we’ve had fun with friends, enemies and advertisers, but the time has come to talk about the payers. those who hand the envelopes full of cash and write the checks who end up with thumbprints on them. we expect the numbers to be big and the names to be surprising. especially to those at the IRS and DOR who’ve seen his phony tax returns.
so if you’ve heard about someone sliding billy the blogger some cash, now is the time to talk. remember, billy set the standard low so feel free to report what you’ve heard. we’re sure the boys in washington and columbia will get to the bottom of it.

The question should really be “who pays” but “how much.” This blog has already answered who pays with the people listed in those bars on the right. I’ve heard Tom Davis and Nikki Haley’s people probably take top honors in Billy the Blogger donations.

Its about time somebody did this! You can talk to ANYBODY in sc politics and find they at least know SOMEBODY who has been financially involved with Folks. If they don’t pay him to fluff themselves, they pay him to attack their opponents. Or they keep him on a nice little monthly “anti-attack” retainer. Sometimes even his sworn enemies (First Tuesday crowd) pay him (revenge attack on Dawson last year)! but still, most of the Sanfraud crowd is as guilty as any.

As much as Billy seems sometimes to be anti-McMaster, he almost always seems pro Quinn and therefore somewhat supportive of McMaster. But who care how many times he lightly jabs McMaster, he’s going for Barrett’s jugular. I heard it’s 5 grand a month, not a penny less from RQA.

“Will’s best friend” has it right. The people that comment on his blog and think he’s great would be very disappointed if they found out what he’s really about. His assault on Katon Dawson last year was entirely funded by the First Tuesday crowd and now he’s going after their client Gresham Barrett because he’s getting paid by another group (Haley crowd).

From what I understand, Andre and Larry Marchant are now working together and the “leave Andre alone money” is actually coming from the same source as the school choice money. Marchant just asked for Andre to be part of the deal.
